Sitia
Sitia, harbour of the north-eastern Crete is amphitheatrically built round the homonym gulf, on the site of ancient Itia that was the harbour of Praisos.
Sitia is a modern city with big tourist activity but maintains its traditional beauty. The residents are known for their cordiality and their hospitality. It is the birth town of the poet Vintsentzo Kornaros author of “Erotokritos”.
Its organised beach with the white sand, the graphic harbour and the elegant neoclassic buildings him make it an attractive destination.
